Phenix City police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early this morning.
Capt. Frank Ivey said a man entered the Bizzy Bee convenience store on Fourth Avenue in Phenix City at around 6:55 a.m.
He grabbed the clerk and demanded money, Ivey said. After taking money from the cash drawer, he fled on foot.
The man did not have a weapon and the clerk was not injured.
The suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s, standing about 6 feet all, with a slender to medium build.
He was wearing a camouflaged battle dress uniform jacket and pants and a red scarf over his face.
The case remains under investigation.
