Georgia farmers have planted less corn and cotton

Georgia farmers planted corn and cotton and more peanuts and soybeans in 2008 compared with 2007 according to the United States Deapartment of Agriculture.

Based on a survey taken during the first two weeks of June, growers indicated that corn acres would be down considerably from last year. The same was true with soybeans.

Hay acreage is expected to increase from last year.
